Februari is de maand waarin ik als bruiloftfotograaf op vakantie ga.. In het zomerseizoen heb ik het druk met bruiloften fotograferen en de nabewerking en in de winter valt er juist vaak een stilte kwa werk.. Ideaal om aan Social Media te werken (dat schiet er vaak bij in tijdens het bruiloft seizoen) en natuurlijk zelf op vakantie te gaan! Dit jaar ben ik met een vriendin 2 weken op reis naar Vietnam gegaan.. Als ik op bijzondere plekken ben kan ik het niet laten om mijn camera mee te nemen.. Fotografie is tenslotte hetgeen wat ik het liefste doe! Na een paar dagen ontmoette ik de Franse Adrian en zijn Vietnamese vriendin Ha.. Adrian is zelf straatfotograaf en verstopt zich altijd achter de camera.. Al jaren is het er bij het koppel ingeschoten om eens leuke foto’s van zichzelf te laten maken.. Omdat de temperaturen oplopen tot bijna 40 graden in Saigon, spraken we op donderdag ochtend vroeg af om half 7 ’s ochtends. Ook is de stad dan nog ietsjes rustiger dan later op de dag en het licht is nog zacht en niet zo fel (van fel daglicht krijg je vaak harde schaduwen, moeilijk kijkende mensen en geen mooie foto’s). We hebben ongeveer anderhalf uur door de stad gelopen en erg veel lol gehad met de lokale bevolking. Het was voor Adrian even wennen om zelf voor de camera te staan, maar al snel sloeg dat om.. Ik vond het erg leuk met dit fantastisch lieve koppel.

February is the month in which I usually go on a holiday as a wedding photographer .. In the summer season I am busy with wedding photography and post-processing and in the winter there is often a work silence as not many people marry during the cold months .. Ideal to work on Social Media (that often gets forgotten during the wedding season) and of course go on holiday yourself! This year I went on a trip to Vietnam with a girlfriend for 2 weeks .. When I am in special places I can’t resist taking my camera with me .. After all, photography is what I love doing most! After a few days I met the French Adrian and his Vietnamese girlfriend Ha .. Adrian is a street photographer himself and always hides behind the camera .. For years it has slipped in to have some nice photos taken of themselves .. Because the temperatures reach almost 40 degrees in Saigon, we agreed to meet on Thursday morning at 6:30 in the morning. The city is also a bit quieter than later in the day and the light is still soft and not so bright (bright daylight often gives hard shadows, difficult-looking people and not really beautiful photos). We walked around the city for about an hour and a half and had a lot of fun with the locals. It took a little bit of time getting used to being in front of the camera for Adrian, but it quickly turned around .. I really liked it with this fantastic sweet couple.
